Martumili Artists was established by Martu people living in the communities of Parnpajinya (Newman), Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu, Kunawarritji, Irrungadji and Warralong, and it draws on strong influences of aboriginal art history. The artists and their families are the traditional custodians of vast stretches of the Great Sandy, Little Sandy and Gibson Deserts as well as the Karlamilyi (Rudall River) area. Most Martu people maintain an entirely independent, nomadic desert lifestyle until the 1950s and 1960s when they walked into settlements in response to a long and severe drought. Today, Martu people live in their own communities and regularly visit regional centres such as Newman and Port Hedland.
AKINOD | 3-Piece Cutlery Set in 1922 print
Regular price Dhs. 154.00 Sale price Dhs. 93.00 Dhs. 93.00Add a dash of Art Deco with the geometric repeating fans of the 1922 design. You too can feel like a partygoer from The Great Gatsby, whether you’re feasting on lobster or fish and chips.
Ditching plastic cutlery doesn’t mean eating your salad with a clumsy bamboo spork. Saying no to disposable utensils becomes second nature when you carry around this nifty, French-designed three-piece set.
Highly pragmatic, universal, and super-sleek, it’s ready to use whenever you buy food on the go, have a picnic in your local botanic gardens, take your prepped lunch out of the work fridge, chow down at a food court or take out a snack on a bushwalk.
You can eat elegantly while playing your part in ending single-use cutlery, keeping plastic waste out of the environment, and taking hygiene into your own hands. Just choose a design to your taste.
Each piece — spoon, four-prong fork and a knife with micro-serrated edge, in a cotton carry bag — is thoughtfully designed and engineered to be light and comfortable in the hand, while a clever system of magnets keeps the set safely together and prevents losing a precious component.
Materials: Stainless steel, polymer
Dimensions: 18 x 3.3cm
Cutlery made in China and France
Designed, printed, and assembled in Akinod's Paris, France workshop
