On the Ghats of Varanasi

James Stephenson has been travelling and painting en plein air for over 20 years.

Three works from his 2009 Eva Breuer Art Gallery exhibition in Sydney are now available for purchase. 

As if you are painting with him on the river, in these works, Stephenson captures perfectly the colours, atmosphere, sounds, forms and light of the Ghats on Varanasi in India, as only en plein air painting can do.

Homage to Hundertwasser III

Friedensreich Hundertwasser was one of Austria's most famous avant-garde artists and architects. His works reflect his philosophy, which is based on a harmonious interaction between nature and man.

In this delightful homage to the man who changed his name to - as translated into English - "Peace-Realm Hundred Water", Blue Mountains-based fabric artist Anna M Marshall creates a symphony of colour, shape and texture with this textile artwork.
