In the late nineties, I lived in the UK for a few years. I never did get around to visiting this gorgeous place. I spent too much time checking out shoe shops on the weekends.

I thought I had all the time in the world, as Aussie twenty-somethings overseas did in the time before 9/11, the London bombings and COVID.
