This stunning glass & rattan case has been inspired by the Wardian case which was invented in the 19th Century, to successfully transport exotic & rare plants across the globe. This piece helps to create a temperate environment for your plants, encouraging hydration and minimising the effects of heating & cooling.
It's a unique way to highlight those special plants in your home. Our Wardian case is also a wonderful vessel to showcase collections of dried natural elements such as flowers, seed pods, shells & feathers which you may gather from the natural world. It allows us to continue to interact & observe nature, as we seek to reconnect with it.
Featuring a hinged lift up lid, to allow ease for moving your pots in and out as required. Constructed using rattan with inset glass panels, and a solid plywood and close weave rattan base, it is beautifully finished with handwoven rattan binding on each corner.
This piece is handcrafted from rattan which is sourced from sustainable forests in Indonesia. This plant case is 90% handmade by local craftsmen & women who have traditionally used & worked with this natural material for generations. As a handmade piece each item varies slightly in the way it has been handcrafted, and due to the the natural variation in the rattan.
