Get a Bloomin' Move On

The dilemma. Finding a cool bike helmet designed for urban riding that will not defile your Lekker bike (or its look-a-like). Or perhaps your leisurely weekend ride in the nearest national park doesn't necessarily need a casque that makes you look ready for the Giro d'Italia.

Whether it's an e-bike or your first bike for 20 years the helmet dilemma has been solved. THOUSAND has arrived in Australia.

Minimalist Heritage bike helmets make up the inaugural collection from Thousand, inspired by the simplicity of vintage moto lids and the heritage colorways of the 1950s and ’60s.

Finally, you can get back on ya bike, scooter, skateboard or, get your roller derby skates on, inspired by this coolest of casques.

This Speedway Creme helmet takes its inspiration from films like the 1971 movie Le Mans, featuring Steve (“Lightning, I am your father”) McQueen, in its creamy-white colour base and red and navy G-stripe. With a hint of The Italian Job inspo too, so you’ll be on ya bike whistling to the tune of “Getta Bloomin’ Move On” (you know, that Self Preservation Society song) and doing Michael Caine impressions. We do, however, suggest you don't shout out the title of the song as you pass pedestrians.

Take your safety into your own hands. Your Uncle Ned will be secure in this helmet knowing Thousand have secured safety certification worldwide, including Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2063:2008 (bike helmets) and ASTM 1492 (skateboarding and rollerskating).

SIzing: small 54 - 57 cm, medium 57 - 59 cm, large 59 - 62 cm

Lightweight shell: 410g (small), 460g (medium); 490g (large)

Secret pop-lock for securing helmet with your lock

Who is Thousand?

Looks aren’t everything, we know. But if they can help persuade people to protect themselves by looking cool, we’re on board. Thousand founder Gloria Hwang was inspired to offer casual riders of bikes, skateboards and scooters a safe and good-looking helmet option after a friend was tragically killed in a cycling accident without protection.
